Visit Elfershausen Castle
The ruin of a medieval hilltop castle, perched about 60 metres above the Saale river. One of three castles in the valley that together form the "Castles of the Saale" trail — great views and a real sense of history.
Explore Trimburg Castle
A small museum in nearby Euerdorf dedicated to the geological history of the Triassic period — fossils, minerals and interactive exhibits. Good for families.
Visit Terra Triassica Museum
Also known as the Red Castle, built between 1726 and 1731 as a summer residence on the foundations of a historic wine cellar. Hammelburg has been a centre of winemaking since the 8th century, and the castle reflects that long tradition.

In summer, over 125 rose varieties bloom in Bad Kissingen's Rosarium, right along the Saale. Sit on a bench by the river, watch the ducks and enjoy the colours and scent.
The highlight is the multimedia fountain — daily water shows set to music, and evening projections onto a screen of water droplets.
Bad Kissingen's elegant spa garden with tree-lined avenues and colourful flowerbeds. Legend has it that King Ludwig I designed the park himself.
In summer, open-air concerts are held here — grab a coffee from the cafe and enjoy the music.
